Atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge codeposition of maleic anhydride and vinyltrimethoxysilane on aluminium foil was investigated. The layers, characterised by Scanning Electron Microscopy, Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, have been successfully functionalised with diene groups. This could be useful to work out reversible adhesion. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
