Exercise prescription is an important intervention in outpatient rehabilitation. Adequately strengthening muscles without causing further injury can be a problem, especially in postoperative care. This causes us to err on the side of not enough instead of too much, which reduces the desired benefit of exercise. the daily adjustable progressive resistance exercise (DAPRE) system is one of the best exercise prescription tools a clinician can have. This column will review the DAPRE system and how it can be effectively used by rehabilitation professionals.
