In this paper, we discuss the proposed method of identifying the parameters of photovoltaic cells/modules with the help of curve fitting by using both analytical and statistical methods. Increased computing power in recent years enables us to find fast and accurate solutions to non-linear equations and allows a wide range of use of this method. Evaluation was done on computed I-V curves with chosen model parameters and also on samples of mono-crystalline silicon cells. In the latter case the samples were measured with a Pasan cell tester IIc under variable conditions, model parameters were calculated and the model was compared with measured data.
