Here, we report an eco-friendly method for synthesis of reduced graphene oxide decorated with gold nanoparticles (rGO-Au-nano) by using rose water as reducing agent. The prepared materials were characterized using UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Furthermore, the direct electrochemistry of glucose oxidase (GOD) was achieved at a glassy carbon electrode modified with rGO-Au-nano. The resulting biosensor exhibited good response to glucose with linear range from 1 to 8 mM with a low detection limit of 10 mu M. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
