This article presents investigations on ruthenium loaded nanostructured CdSnO3 thin films. The ruthenium loaded films showed higher response to 2-CEES (2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide - simulant of chemical warfare agent (CWA)) than the unloaded CdSnO3 thin films. The physical and chemical properties of ultrasonically sprayed films were studied by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The reasons of enhanced 2-CEES response of ruthenium loaded CdSnO3 are discussed. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
