The effects of initial microstructure on the microstructure evolution of a Ti-1.5Fe (mass%) alloy during deformation in the (alpha + beta) two-phase region are studied at different deformation temperatures. Refining interlamellar spacing and colony size of the (alpha + beta) lamellar structure by quenching after beta solutionizing results in promotion of dynamic recrystallization.
