The explosive probability of PETN with various contents of nickel nanoparticles in samples is determined as a function of the energy density of the initiating laser pulse (lambda = 1064 nm, tau = 14 ns). Control of the PETN laser effect sensitivity is shown to be possible via the addition of nickel nanoparticles. The results are experimentally and theoretically compared with those obtained earlier for the use of aluminum nanoparticles as inclusions. The obtained results are shown to agree with the microsource model of heat explosion initiation.
