The fight against doping increasingly represents a sporting and legal problem. The taking of drugs to increase performance has now also reached recreational sports. From the point of view of the State it is assumed that criminal networks promote and support doping in sport at the national as well as at international levels, e. g. by an illegal trade in drugs. The doping occurrences and doping confessions alone in 2007 and 2008 suggest that especially in areas of competitive sports a better control and supervision could be instigated. The law of improving the fight against doping in sports and the regulation on doping agent amounts were enacted in November 2007 and the new situation will be discussed.
