The adsorption of hemoglobin (Hb) onto the Hb-imprinted polymer beads has been dynamically and thermodynamically investigated. The order of Hb adsorption rate was examined to be 0.7-order, and the rate constant k, apparent activation energy E-A, and Arrhenius constant A were calculated. Equilibrium modeling of the adsorption showed that the adsorption of MIP beads to the imprinted molecule Hb was fitted well to the Freundlich equation. From the results of the thermodynamic analysis, standard free energy Delta G(0), standard enthalpy Delta H-0, and standard entropy Delta S-0 were determined. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd.
