This work was researched by the method of inverse phase emulsification to prepare the spherical chitosan resin and use the spherical chitosan resin to adsorb the photosensitizer methylene blue. The prepared resin was characterized by the IR spectrum. The influences of reaction temperature, contact time, initial concentration of methylene blue and pH of methylene blue solution on the adsorption process was investigated. The results show that the ball effect is better when the chitosan acetic acid solution with a concentration of 2% is added into the NaOH and anhydrous ethyl alcohol with the volume ratio of 9 : 1, and under this condition the resin has uniform size with no streaking and the mechanical strength is enhanced obviously. When the temperature is 25 degrees C, the adsorption time is 2 h, the initial concentration of methylene blue is 0.6 mg/ L and pH is 11, the adsorption effect is the best. The adsorbance is 2.81 g/100 g wet-resin. In the adsorption process, physisorptions and chemisorption coexist. The amido group and hydroxy group are at the position of methylene blue adsorption.
