Gold nanoclusters (NCs) stabilized by the poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) hydrophilic polymer (Au:PVP) behave not only as aerobic oxidation catalyst but also formal Lewis acid catalyst, which promotes the intramolecular heterocyclization of gamma-hydroxyalkenes and gamma-aminoalkenes.
