Smart acrylamide copolymers containing N-isopropyl and 4-N-amino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl-4-yl (TEMPO) groups undergo reversible redox behavior leading to LCST changes. Oxidation (NaOCl/H2O) or reduction (ascorbic acid) changes the copolymer's LCST from 18 degrees C to 35-40 degrees C.
