Phytochemical investigation of the roots and twigs of Glycosmis macrophylla yielded a new carbazole alkaloid, glycrophylamine (1), and a new amide, glycrophylamide (6) together with five known compounds. The structures of these compounds were determined by spectral analyses. Some of the isolated compounds were evaluated for cytotoxicity against NCI-H187 cancer cell line.
