Phytochemical investigation of the roots of Lindera strychnifolia resulted in the isolation of seven sesquiterpene lactones named linderolide G-M (1-7), together with twelve known sesquiterpenes. The structures and relative configurations of 1-7 were determined through spectroscopic observations, and the absolute configurations were defined by CD analysis. Linderolide G (1) and lindestrene (16) showed cytotoxicity against HSC-T6 hepatic stellate cells. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
