A generalized expression relating the magnetoresistance of manganites La1 - x Ag (x) MnO3 with the change in the magnetic entropy has been proposed. The correct inclusion of the acting mechanisms of appearance of the magnetoresistance is shown to lead to adequate agreement between the experimental and calculated values of Delta S (M) .
