By using the linearized two-fluid quantum hydrodynamic model for sigma and pi orbitals, the dispersion relations of electromagnetic waves in the single-walled carbon nanotubes are investigated. By injection of a relativistic electron beam, the excitation of electromagnetic waves in this system is studied. The graphs of operating frequency with respect to the accelerating voltage and time growth rate with respect to the wave number for excitation of slow electric mode waves (transverse magnetic mode waves) are presented.
