We report on the theoretical study of laser-assisted attosecond photoemission from metals. The full time-dependent quantum approach reveals the role of the resonant interband and nonresonant surface emission processes in formation of final atto-streaking spectra. The present results explain recent experimental data on magnesium and show that the valence band streaking essentially reflects the respective weight of surface and resonant bulk electron ejection.
