In this work, the effect of cold-rolling on the mechanical behavior of the Zr60Ti5Ag5Cu12.5Ni10Al7.5 metallic glass has been investigated. The results reveal that cold-rolling is very effective for improving the room temperature mechanical properties of the material. A small size reduction of only 5% remarkably improves the strength as well as the plastic deformation, which increase by about 20 and 40%, respectively, with respect to the as-cast material. The origin of the enhanced mechanical properties is most likely due to the creation during cold-rolling of a heterogenous microstructure consisting of shear softened regions surrounded by hard undeformed regions.
