Interfacial structures in facets of the basal Mg2Sn lath approximately along were characterized using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. A set of periodic misfit-compensating ledges is observed along the irrational major facet, which deviates from by an angle of around 5 degrees. The observation is interpreted quantitatively using a constrained secondary coincidence-site lattice model. The calculation results reveal a favourable singular structure with a specific configuration of steps, showing good agreement with the experimental observations.
