We report preparation of CdS0.5Se0.5 thin films by a simple and inexpensive chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. CdS0.5Se0.5 thin films have been deposited on non-conducting glass substrates. The color of the films was found to be yellowish orange. The films were characterized by XRD, SEM, optical and electrical techniques. The optical band gap energy (E-g) was found to be 2.2 eV. The optical as well as the electrical properties were found to be intermediate of binary CdS and CdSe thin films. (C) 2012 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
