We report the design of an AND optical logic gate based on two dimensional triangular lattice of air holes in Si. The proposed structure consists of Y-branch waveguide without nonlinear materials and optical amplifiers. The simulation results show that the proposed all optical structure could really function as an AND logic gate. This structure is favorable for large scale optical integration and can potentially be used in on-chip photonic logic integrated circuits. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
