Heating of electrons and lattice of aluminum caused by interaction with a femtosecond laser pulse is described quantitatively. Coefficients of absorption of s- and p-polarized pulses are calculated. Frequencies of electron-electron collisions in aluminum are determined from comparison of experimentally measured and calculated coefficients of absorption. DOI: 10.1134/S0030400X13030077
