Using femto-second Z-scan measurements, third-order nonlinearities of glasses in TeO2-Bi2O3-TiO2 ternary system were investigated at 800 nm. Their relationships between linear optics represented by linear refractive indexes n(0) and optical band gap E-opg were studied. Results show that non-linear index gamma increases with increasing n(0), the largest value of gamma is 5.108 x 10(-18) m(2)/W. Non-linear absorption which recognized as two-photon absorption was resonantly enhanced when E-opg approached 3.1 eV, namely two-photon process. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
