Porodaedalea cedrina is described as a new species. The fungus occurs on Cedrus atlantica and C. libani in North Africa (Algeria, Morocco) and Western Asia (Turkey, Lebanon). The DNA sequences of ITS region of ribosomal RNA genes and translation elongation factor 1-alpha confirmed its separation from other Porodaedalea species in Eurasia. The new species seems to be distributed in localities of Cedrus spp. native distribution in Mediterranean area.
