A modified two-dimensional triangular lattice model is presented by accounting the effect of optimal current difference on traffic dynamics and analyzed both theoretically and numerically. Based on the sensitivity and configurations of vehicles, two distinct types of jamming transitions occur: conventional jamming transition to the kink jam and jamming transition to the chaotic jam through kink jam. The chaotic region reduces with reaction coefficient and enhances when more number of vehicles move diagonally. It is shown that the incorporation of optimal current difference effect efficiently stabilizes the traffic flow and suppresses traffic jam for all possible configurations on triangular lattice.
