A one-step seeded growth process has been developed for the synthesis of Au nanoparticles with tunable diameters from similar to 10 nm to similar to 200 nm. The delicately designed growth system suppresses self-nucleation by stabilizing a concentrated growth solution with strong coordinating ligands, leading to precise size control and convenient, scalable fabrication of Au nanoparticles.
