Boletus atlanticus, found in coastal sand dunes in Galicia (NW of Spain) under Cistus salviifolius and maritime pines (Pinus pinaster), is described as a new species from section Luridi based on morphology. Morphological description, drawings of microscopic characters, and color pictures of the basidiomata are presented. A discussion about other close taxa of section Luridi is also outlined.
