A higher order large-domain finite element technique for three-dimensional modeling of electromagnetic structures involving general anisotropic inhomogeneous materials is presented. The examples demonstrate efficient and accurate simulations of scattering and waveguide structures using large (a couple of wavelengths across) anisotropic continuously inhomogeneous curved finite elements with p-refined (high-order) field distributions.
