Finite element (FE) analysis of frictional contacts of elastic members is presented with functionally graded material (FGM) coatings. The contact of cylinders with positive-positive and positive-negative curvatures and the contact of rectangular parts are investigated in details. The percent error in energy norm in the FE models are minimized and mesh convergence rates are compared with analytical results. Various analytical solutions are compared with FE solutions for different radii of curvatures. The slip and stick regions and contact stresses are investigated in all cases for different stiffness ratios.
