Carbon nanotube thin sheets - buckypapers - were prepared from multi-walled carbon nanotubes oxidised with different oxidation agents. Prepared buckypapers were characterized by mechanical testing, surface conductivity and mercury porosimetry. It was found that their mechanical properties were increased by increasing the power of oxidation agents. Nitric acid-treated buckypapers showed the highest structural integrity and surface conductivity. (c) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
