In the present work, Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) are synthesized via plantain peel extract by the biogenic method. The reaction process is simple, eco-friendly and convenient to handle. These MNPs are characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer Emmett and Teller surface area analyzer and vibrating sample magnetometer techniques. The Fe3O4 MNPs possess high Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) surface area which is found to be 11.31 m(2)/g and well-dispersed Fe3O4 MNPs have spherical morphology. The size below 50 nm are seen in transmission electron microscopic image. In addition, the MNPs present in higher saturation magnetization (15.8 emu/g) show excellent magnetic response behavior.
