The lithium vanadium oxides half opened-nanotubes (LiV3O8 HONT) are successfully synthesized by a solvothermal procedure, combined with a solid-state reaction using octadecylamine as template. The assynthesized sample mainly consists of monoclinic phase LiV3O8. The results show that the spherical aggregates of HONT is constructed by crossed half opened-nanotubes. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) test indicates that some redox processes are integrated, which is propitious to improve the electrochemical performance of LiV3O8 cathode material.
