Multiwalled Bi2Te3 nanotubes were synthesized via a trouble-free solvothermal route at 100 degrees C. X-ray diffraction pattern confirms the rhombohedral phase of as synthesized Bi2Te3 sample. The electrical conductivity (sigma) and dielectric properties of as synthesized Bi2Te3 nanotubes were investigated. The metallic behavior (d sigma/dT<0) of Bi2Te3 nanotubes was observed and Debye theory was applied to demonstrate the dielectric relaxation behavior of Bi2Te3 nanotubes. Bi2Te3 nanotubes with high dielectric constant (epsilon '-30-3178) and low dielectric loss (tan delta similar to 0.04-4.04) confirms that capacitors of capacity (C similar to 41-2296 pF) may be fabricated which will be useful for storage of renewable energy in various practical devices.
