We reported a facile approach to synthesize nanocomposites with Mn3O4 nanoparticles anchored to graphene nanosheets by one-step solvothermal process, which combined the growth of Mn3O4 nanoparticles and the reduction of graphene oxide. It was found that Mn3O4 nanoparticles with size of 3-5 nm homogeneously deposited on graphene nanosheets. The electrochemical properties of graphene/Mn3O4 nanocomposite were studied as electrode materials for supercapacitors. The graphene/Mn3O4 nanocomposite exhibited a specific capacitance of 147 F g(-1) in 1 M Na2SO4 aqueous electrolyte and a good rate property. The improved electrochemical performance may be attributed to the increased electrode conductivity in the presence of graphene network. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
