In this study, turning of super alloy Monel K500 has been investigated with ceramic tools and with the help of ordinary and Wiper inserts under dry and near dry machining. First, preparation of process on lathe and a mechanism to provide near dry lubrication was done. The used tools are ordinary ceramic inserts from type of DNGA 12 04 08 T01020-650 and Wiper inserts from type of DNGA 12 04 08 T01020WG-650 manufactured by Sandvik company. During the experiments, parameters such as cutting force, surface roughness, and cutting region temperature were evaluated. All of the mentioned parameters were measured in both dry and near dry lubrication. The obtained results prove that under near dry machining not only surface roughness enhances, but also cutting force and temperature decrease.
