Blue-green phosphor LiBaPO4:Eu2+, was prepared by solid-state reaction and optimized by adding H3BO3 as flux. Temperature-dependent luminescence of LiBa0.95PO4:Eu-0.05(2+) phosphor was investigated. Furthermore, the luminescence properties of bright blue-green light-emitting diodes (LEDs) fabricated by incorporating this phosphor with all InGaN-based near-up chip were also studied based on different forward-bias Currents. The results suggest that photoluminescence intensity of LiBaPO4:Eu2+ can be improved by adding H3BO3, and luminescence of the prepared phosphor exhibits higher thermal stability than that of commercially available Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ phosphor. It is expected to be it good blue-green phosphor candidate for creating while light in phosphor-converted while LEDs. (C) 2008 The Electrochemical Society.
