PKU-9, an aluminogermanate synthesized hydrothermally, crystallizes in a new zeolite framework composed of CGS layers and spiro-5 units. It contains three-dimensional intersecting 10- and 8-ring channels, has a tow framework density, and represents the first example of a porous aluminogermanate containing spiro-5 units.
