Experiments have been made to determined the effect of various confounding factors (foreign ions, organic compounds entering into the composition of detergents) on the dynamic sorption of cesium by zeolites (natural and synthetic). On the basis of the results obtained, a few ways were proposed for reducing the influence of the various confounding factors on the degree of cesium sorption on zeolites. Among those ways, the usage of the sorption facility consisting of several sorption columns has appeared to be most efficient. For the quantitative determination of cesium used nuclear-physical methods of analysis using a beam of charged particles.
