Elevated interest is gathered around hybrid nanostructured materials, due to their combined physical-chemical properties. In this article, the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles consisting of both NixPy and metallic Ni are reported. The nanoparticles have a core/shell structure, and they most probably combine both semiconducting and magnetic properties. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time hybrid material with Ni, as well as 3D self-assembly of such material, is reported.
