Highly ordered lamellar polydiacetylene nanocomposites are synthesized by assembling polydiacetylene and azobenzene through a ready solution process. The trans-to-cis transition of azobenzene tinder UV light induces conformational change of polydiacetylene with a color change from blue to red.
