Grain size dependence of coercivity and permeability (GSDCP) theory is extended to include grain size distribution in ferromagnets. It is found that the experimental data do not agree with the GSDCP theory on the transition location of different grain size ranges (The GSDCP theory has three different grain size ranges for different magnetization processes.). Correspondingly, including the grain size distribution the GSDCP theory fits the experimental data very well. These results prove that the grain size distribution indeed affects the magnetic properties of nanocrystalline ferromagnets. (c) 2008 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
