A new weevil genus and species, Palaeonanophyes zherikhini gen. et sp. nov., from the Early-Middle Eocene of the Green River (United States) is described. The new genus differs from Ctenomerus Schoenherr, 1843 in the less thickened femora without distinct teeth, smaller eyes, antennal scrobes starting at the beginning of the second one-third, base of the head with hatching, and small body size.
