In this paper, we propose an evaluation method for device parameters of solid-state organic lasers. Using a self-written active (SWA) waveguide technique, a Fabry-Perot (FP)-type organic laser with a channel waveguide structure was fabricated, in which the cavity length and the feedback efficiency can be easily controlled. The lasing threshold of the fabricated organic laser showed a monotonic decrease with increased cavity length. From the experimental result, the optical net-gain coefficient and the loss coefficient could be quantitatively evaluated. The evaluation method described here would be an available means to estimate the performance of the laser device with organic compounds.
