The synthesis, structure, and spectroscopic details of a series of beta-diketiminato lead(II) alkyl complexes are described. The Hammett correlation between the Pb-207 NMR. chemical shifts sigma(para). Hammett constant was examined computationally and found to be due to the paramagnetic shielding contribution, whereas the diamagnetic and spin-orbit coupling contributions remained fairly constant across this series of compounds.
