A simple wet chemical method has been successfully deployed to fabricate ZnO nanoflakes. Field emission scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the formation of nanoflakes. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopic study revealed that the fabricated material is composed of Zn and O. The synthesized ZnO nanoflakes exhibit strong photoluminescence peaked at similar to 411 nm owing to recombination of electrons at Zn-interstitials and holes in the valence band.
