In this paper, a novel multi layered structure consisted of two sub wavelength gratings and split ring resonator printed On two sides of dielectric substrate has been proposed. This new structure can realize broadband asymmetric transmission and multi-band 90'degrees polarization rotator in the infrared spectral region. Due to the Fabry-Perot like resonance effect, the asymmetric parameter can reach a maximum of 0.95 and over than 0.8 from 100 THz to 285 THz, which exhibit a magnitude improvement over previous optical metamaterials. The polarization conversion between two orthogonal linearly polarized waves is analyzed by the optical activity. The electric fields are also investigated and the simulated results are coinciding with the calculated ones. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved
