Two tridentate trifluoromethylated enaminones derived from 8-aminoquinoline and 2-aminopyridine L1H and L2H have been designed as ligands that can exhibit multiple coordination centers. Five new complexes 1-5 based on transition metals (Co-II. Ni-II and Zn-II) were prepared and their crystal structure and redox properties have been studied. The role of the trifluoromethyl moieties and their ability to form F center dot center dot center dot H intra- and inter-complexes bonds leading to multidimensional networks have been also featured.
