A novel dual-band semi-planar chiral metamaterial structure is proposed in this paper. The optical characteristics and effective parameters of the proposed structure extracted using simulation results show that the proposed structure exhibits: 1) exceptionally greater optical activity compared with other published similar semi-planar chiral metamaterial designs and 2) negative refractive indices for the right and left circularly polarized waves in two independent microwave frequency bands.
