Values of the surface tension increments by electrolytes in aqueous solutions, d Delta gamma/dc(2), reported in the literature have been critically examined and are presented. The additivity of the ionic contributions to these increments has been tested and confirmed within +/- 0.2 mN.m(-1)mol(-1).dm(3). A set of ionic increments d Delta gamma/dc(i) is proposed and tabulated.
