A method based on the rough-hard-sphere theory has been extended to the calculation of the viscosity and thermal conductivity of a wide range Of Compounds including alkanes, 1-alkanols, alkanediols, benzene. toluene, and I I refrigerants. The method is simple to use and is capable of fitting data within experimental error. Generalized forms of the parameters for homologous series of alkanes, 1-alkanols, alkanediols, and halogentated methanes are presented. The extrapolation capability of the method was evaluated by predicting the viscosities of the higher alkanes and alkanols using parameters obtained from the properties of lower members of the homologous series.
